National one-day conference Smart Energy

Place: Aula François-Xavier Bagnoud, HES-SO Valais-Wallis, Sion

Smart energy : What is the potential for the future ?

The national Smart Energy conference will be held for the sixth time in 2016. Launched in 2011, its aim is to bring together energy specialists for a day of lectures and discussions. In the context of the exit from nuclear power and the rise of variable alternative sources of energy, the theme of Smart Energy is more topical than ever.
The theme for the 6th national Smart Energy Day on 8 September 2016 is the digitisation of the energy industry and its economic impact on grid management.

As digitisation within the energy sector increases, two cultures with fundamentally different areas of expertise and approaches are encountering one another. Is Switzerland equipped to respond to this convergence of IT and energy? Do we need to develop new tools and new dedicated infrastructures?  What is the impact on electricity grids, on their management and organisation? What metrics should be used? Should new ones be developed? Are they purely economic? What is the focus of services to consumers? What new skills will operators require in future? What solutions are already being used in the field?

These are some of the questions that the speakers will try to answer during this themed conference.

We are delighted to welcome you to this year's conference.
